Polarean Imaging said the reimbursement-code price range for its MRI technology Xenoview will be set at $1,201 to $1,300, in line with its expectations.
The London-listed medical imaging technology company said Tuesday that the code enables healthcare providers a path to bill for magnetic resonance imaging, or MRI.
Last week, shares in the company jumped on the news that U.S. Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services had established a new reimbursement code for Xenoview, with effect from Oct. 1.
“We’ve been working hard with U.S. Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services and welcome this news today from which aligns with our original expectation on pricing reimbursement,” Chief Executive Christopher von Jako said.
While the new code doesn’t guarantee coverage or payment, its effectiveness marks a key commercialisation milestone for the company, he added.
